About these terms
These terms apply when you use citizenshiptestquestions.com (the "site"), which is run by Citizenship Test Questions ("we", "us") from the United Kingdom. By using the site you agree to them. When you buy an unlock code, these terms, our refund policy and the price shown at checkout form the contract between you and us. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

What the site is
Citizenship Test Questions offers practice tests for the Life in the UK test, the Canadian and Australian citizenship tests and the US civics test. They are not the official tests, and apart from the US civics questions, which are USCIS's own, our questions are not official test questions. Citizenship Test Questions is an independent study site. It is not affiliated with the Home Office, IRCC, the Department of Home Affairs, USCIS or any government. We cannot book, change or mark a real test.
How our questions are written and marked
- How questions are written: our practice questions for the Life in the UK test, Canadian citizenship test and Australian citizenship test are written from the official study guide for each test, in our own words. They are checked automatically; the questions for Life in the UK, Canada and Australia also go through an independent second check that answers every question without seeing our answer. Questions it disagrees with are rewritten or removed. The US civics questions and the answers USCIS accepts are copied word for word from USCIS's official lists; the explanations are ours. We never copy the official guides' paragraphs.
- How tests are marked: each mock test is marked against the official pass mark for its test, and the full US interview follows the rules USCIS publishes for the real one.
- No guarantee: a practice score shows how you did on our questions. It does not predict or guarantee a pass in the real test.
- Check official sources: rules, fees and test formats change. Each test page shows the date we last checked its facts and links to the official page for the test; always confirm with the official body before you book or sit a test. The site is a study aid, not immigration or legal advice.
We work to keep the questions accurate, but mistakes can happen. Every explanation in a practice test has a "Report a mistake in this question" link, and we correct or remove questions that are wrong.
Using the site
You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial study. The first 10 mock tests for the Life in the UK test, Canadian citizenship test and Australian citizenship test, the first practice set of every chapter, every US civics question with its answers, explanations and study cards, the 10-question practice interview, the English test page's word lists and sample sentences, and the information pages are free. We may change, add or remove questions, tests and features, for example to keep them accurate.
Unlock codes
- What you buy: an unlock code is a one-off payment that opens full access to one test: the mock tests after the first 10, a mistakes test and more chapter practice sets where there are any. For the US civics test, the code is the US interview pack: it opens the full interview for the 2025 and 2008 tests (it stops as soon as you have passed or failed, as the real one does), 65/20 interviews (for people aged 65 or older with 20 years as a permanent resident), practice of the questions you got wrong, reading and writing practice for the English test, N-400 interview English (the words of Form N-400 and the officer's questions), and your history on this device. The all-tests unlock opens full access to every test, the US interview pack included. It is not a subscription.
- No account: after you pay, the unlock page shows your code and saves it in that browser. Keep a copy: you can enter it again on another device or browser, or after clearing your browser data. If you lose it, email us with the email address you used at checkout.
- Under 18? Ask a parent or guardian to buy the code for you.
- For one person: a code is for the person it was bought for. Do not share, publish or resell it. We may cancel a code that has been published or resold.
- Refunded codes: if your payment is refunded, the code stops working.
Prices and payment
The price is shown before you pay, in the currency of the unlock (British pounds for the Life in the UK test, Canadian dollars for the Canadian citizenship test, Australian dollars for the Australian citizenship test, US dollars for the US interview pack and British pounds for the all-tests unlock). The amount you pay is the one shown on the checkout page before you confirm. Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment provider, under Stripe's own terms; we never see your full card number. Your bank may charge a fee for paying in another currency.
Refunds and your consumer rights
Our refund policy gives you a full refund on any unlock code if you ask within 14 days of buying it, for any reason. If you bought the wrong one and the 14 days have passed, email us and we may refund it at our discretion.
This is in addition to your legal rights. If you are a consumer, you have rights under the law where you live; for example, in the UK, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If a code does not work or the tests are not as described, email us and we will fix it, replace it or refund you. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Fair use
Please do not:
- copy, scrape, download in bulk or republish our questions, explanations or translations, for example to build another question bank, app or website;
- get around the unlock, or use or share a code that was not bought for you;
- copy or reverse engineer the site's code, or try to break its security;
- use automated tools to access the site, except as described below;
- use the site to break the law or to harm the site or other people.
Search engines may crawl and index the site within the limits of our robots.txt file. AI assistants and agents may read individual pages, including the Markdown versions of our pages and our llms.txt file, to answer a person's question or help them study. Neither may copy the site in bulk: robots.txt says which addresses crawlers may visit, not what they may copy.
Our content and other people's
We own the practice questions, explanations, translations, pictures, text and design on the site, or have permission to use them. You may not use them except as these terms allow. The US civics questions and the answers USCIS accepts are USCIS's own. The official study guides and test names belong to the governments that publish them. Naming a government body does not mean it endorses us.
Feedback and error reports
If you send us feedback or report a mistake, you allow us to use your suggestion to improve the site, free of charge and without naming you. We do not publish your email address or message.
Links to other websites
The site links to other websites, such as the official government pages for each test and Stripe's checkout. We don't show ads at the moment. We are not responsible for other websites or their content, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
Our responsibility to you
- We provide the site with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors or suitable for a particular purpose beyond what the law requires.
- If we break these terms or are negligent, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses: the site is for personal study.
- If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation.
- Apart from the cases in the point above and the point below, and as far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for unlock codes.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Suspending or ending access
You can stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or block access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by scraping the site, and we may cancel an unlock code that has been published or resold. If we close the site or stop offering tests you paid for, the law where you live may entitle you to a refund. The sections "Our content and other people's", "Fair use", "Our responsibility to you" and "Law and courts" continue to apply after access ends.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or the site changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Changes apply from that date and do not change the terms of an unlock code you have already bought, unless the law requires it.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring it there; if you live outside the UK, you can also bring it in the courts where you live. Wherever you live, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that place. Please email us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
General
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation that takes over the site, and your rights will not be reduced. Only you and we have rights under these terms.
